Hi there, I'm Gorkem Rahmioglu, simply GOU.
 

I'm a queer potter born in Istanbul, now based in London, with over six years of experience working with clay.
 

I've learned from master potters through hands-on and one-to-one sessions in hand-building, wheel-throwing, mould-making and glaze development. I'm also particularly interested in primitive firing methods and have experimented with pit firing many times.

Between 2022 and 2025, I ran my own studio in Istanbul, where I produced my work and taught ceramics.
 

Wheel-throwing is my main area of expertise and my favourite way of working with clay, but I've never wanted to limit myself to a single technique. What excites me most about ceramics is the endless possibilities for experimentation, pushing the boundaries of clay and discovering what else I can do with it.

Since December 2025, I've been continuing my practice in London, exploring new ideas and possibilities along the way.
