Hi, I’m Gorkem Rahmioglu — simply GOU.

I’m a queer potter who loves exploring the endless possibilities.

Working with clay allows me to be authentic, brave, and free. That’s why instead of limiting myself, I focus on experimenting and discovering along the way. I love working on the wheel, but I also enjoy designing and creating molds, or sometimes starting on the wheel and continuing with hand-building. I often combine clay with natural pieces I collect, experimenting and observing how they respond and transform in the kiln.

I’m drawn to clay’s raw texture and often keep it visible in my pieces. Yet as I’ve learned and experimented more, I’ve come to love preparing my own glazes, adding color and personality to my work. Whenever I get the chance to escape the city, I love firing my pieces using pit firing, a primitive technique that connects me back to the earth.

While continuing my personal artistic journey, I host workshops and classes for both adults and kids, helping them explore creativity through hand-building and wheel-throwing. My studio is a safe space where everyone feels welcome.

Thank you for being here 🤍🌈
